Volunteer Year Round!

Behind the scenes a crew of delightful, dedicated volunteers is working most of the year to keep AWARE a fabulous experience. Grant money is raised, programs and speakers are found, presentations are given to outside organizations…and so much more. And we need YOU—and your skills.

What can I do? What skills do I need?

• Office skills…Could you help send out letters to landowners on the route? Call to get letters of support from local officials? Do similar tasks?
• Writing/communication skills… Would you like to find AWARE news? Write for the newsletter? Write PR releases? Make social media posts? Make a presentation to a group?
• Education skills…Do you know people (or are you one) who would make good speakers? Willing to contact organizations? Enjoy working with others to craft a week of education programs?
• Tech skills…Could you work on the AWARE website? Know about audio/visual equipment? Assess Project AWARE’s future needs?
• Design skills…..Do you use design programs? Want to work on newsletter design? Improve the website?
• Miscellaneous skills…Would you like to help draft a 5-year plan to determine which rivers we’ll paddle? Or source new merchandise to sell?
